Harold Bartow

Obituary of Harold W. Bartow

Harold W. Bartow has reunited with Meg, his beloved wife as of July 11, 2023.

Father of nine, he had the good fortune of being happily married for 58 years to his best friend whom he met in England while in the United States Air Force. The family eventually settled in Watkins Glen on a fifty-acre farm, surrounded by state land…an ideal setting for raising the family. He graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. degree, worked with International Salt where he was instrumental in establishing the credit union, as well as working with the union on behalf of employees, all while serving in the Air National Guard in Syracuse for in excess of twenty years.

If you ever knew Harry, he was always smiling, laughing, joking around and teaching you about life through his many experiences. After Meg's transition, Harry began traveling more extensively always engaging with the many people he encountered along the way…he never ever met a stranger! He loved Meg, family, life, a proper pint of Guinness, exploring, train travel, Great Britain, humor, good-hearted people, reading, poetry, and telling stories about all of his truly remarkable adventures.

You are loved and will be missed so very much by your many family members and friends. Harry is survived by his children Sandy, Angie, Clay, Fiona, Pete, Paul, Phil, Sarah, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grands, and all of the extended family in the States, Great Britain and Spain. "Mind how you go" Dad!
